Both Jungian oriented psychotherapy and Jungian analysis offer a transformative space in which paradoxical ideas, images, thoughts, and feelings can be more fully expressed in a dynamic interactive field. In this field the unconscious of both patient and analyst are involved and allowed to intertwine. In this process the continual unfolding of an archetypal dimension - underlying universal images, patterns, and themes - can be consciously experienced. Working with this archetypal dimension of experience differentiates the Jungian view from other analytic methods. In this deeper exploration of the psyche we can mine the potential for redirecting psychic energy into new channels of experience that arise from the depth of psyche itself.
